Grand Safari organises tailor-made hunting safaris in South Africa, Tanzania, Cameroon and France. Its website had to feel like the trip: big photography, a confident voice and an enquiry route that is never far away. This is the standard of visual and interactive craft I want every site I build to reach.
Photography first, with motion in service of it
The site is built around full-bleed photography and a serif-led type system, with smooth scrolling and measured animation that never gets between the visitor and the content. Destinations, game species, photo safaris, films, the team and trip-planning guides each get proper space.
- 01
126 statically generated pages
Destinations, game, tourism, the team, planning guides and news are all prerendered for speed, with content kept in structured data files that are easy to edit.
- 02
Enquiry form that reaches a person
A validated enquiry form with spam protection that emails the team through their own mailbox, and fails loudly rather than silently losing a lead.
- 03
News migrated from WordPress
65 existing news posts carried across, with an optional live feed from the company’s Facebook page.
- 04
Old URLs handled
Redirects from the previous WordPress URLs, including the translated language versions, so existing links keep working.

Got
something
to build?
A site that needs to be better, an app that needs to exist, a platform that has outgrown its tools. Tell me what it is and I’ll tell you honestly how I’d approach it.
